Before she filled up the kettle, she noticed a cranefly attached to a sticky fly trap she had put up a few weeks ago.
Thinking the cranefly was dead, she blew on it just in case...
The cranefly came to life and began flapping it's wings violently!
A sad look fell upon the girls face. The only thing keeping the cranefly stuck to the sticky fly trap was one of his legs. He was nearly free!
The girl decided to help him... She grabbed a Q-tip and curled the craneflies leg away from the sticky fly trap.
It did not work. Instead of freeing him, his legged popped off.
And he then caught one of his wings to the sticky fly trap.
A few tries later and the girl had the cranefly off of the sticky fly trap, but now he was stuck on a Q-tip and with no legs...
She was sad, so sad. So sad she felt tears form in her eyes.
She scraped the cranefly very lightly on a wall outside of her house and got the cranefly stuck on it, instead of the Q-tip.
But he was still stuck because of his sticky wing...
The girl thought about cutting his wing off, but she couldn't do it. This poor little cranefly was going to be stuck there until he died. She wished she never touched him to begin with. She wished she just put him out of his misery from the start.
She squished him with a slipper.
Goodbye cranefly... <3
